Seward Community Winter Family Movie Series

  • K.M. Rae Building 125 3rd Avenue Seward, AK, 99664 United States (map)

We are off and running — two weeks under our belt and stoked to see so many of you coming out to the movies on Friday nights!

Seward has been bursting with cultural activity lately. Huge kudos to the students who pulled off the ambitious production of Two Noble Kinsmen — what a gift to our community! And a national-touring music group performing at the Alaska Sealife Center on Monday the 17th (I’ll be there!), to say nothing about ceramics classes, Sip-and-Paints, Family Fun Nights, and more, we’re staying creative, connected, and healthy during these long winter nights.

And since it’s already dark outside, what better place to be on a Friday night than the Rae Building Theater for a movie with your friends and neighbors?

Put our films on your calendar, share this post, and invite a friend — especially one who isn’t on social media!

6:00 PM — Freakier Friday (PG • 111 mins)

A 2025 sequel to the 2003 classic! Tess (Jamie Lee Curtis) and Anna (Lindsay Lohan) find themselves in another body-swap — this time involving Anna’s daughter Harper and her future stepdaughter Lily — creating a chaotic four-way identity mix-up just days before Anna’s wedding. TRAILER: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IyJzhtJEtoU

8:00 PM — Thunderbolts: The New Avengers (PG-13 • 126 mins)

Yelena Belova, Bucky Barnes, Red Guardian, Ghost, Taskmaster, and John Walker team up for a dangerous mission that forces each to confront the darkest corners of their pasts. TRAILER: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-sAOWhvheK8

Location: UAF Seward Marine Center — K.M. Rae Building (Railway & 3rd)

Doors Open: 5:30 PM

Admission: $1 (kids & students) | $2 (adults)

Support the Movie Series

Each movie night costs over $600 to host — licensing, equipment, utilities, and more. The Seward Winter Family Movie Series is 100% volunteer-run through the Seward Arts Council, and community support keeps it alive.

Donate or become a sponsor (and get your name on the BIG SCREEN!)
