76 Days Adrift Film
Join us for a special screening of “76 Days Adrift” 🎬
Join us Thursday, June 11, 2026, at the K.M. Rae Building for a special screening of the acclaimed documentary 76 Days Adrift.
Doors open at 6:00 PM, and the film begins at 6:30 PM.
Based on Steven Callahan’s bestselling memoir Adrift: 76 Days Lost at Sea, this gripping documentary recounts one of the most extraordinary survival stories ever recorded. After a catastrophic collision with a whale leaves his sailboat sinking in the middle of the Atlantic Ocean, Callahan finds himself alone on a small life raft with only limited supplies and his determination to survive. For 76 harrowing days, he battles starvation, dehydration, storms, isolation, and the unforgiving power of the sea.
Directed by Joe Wein and executive produced by Academy Award-winning filmmaker Ang Lee, the film combines rare archival footage, original photographs, immersive recreations, and Callahan’s firsthand narration to create a powerful and deeply human portrait of endurance, resilience, and hope. Featuring a score by Patrick Stump, the documentary has earned praise on the international film festival circuit and received multiple award nominations and audience awards, including honors from the Mystic Film Festival and Mendocino Film Festival.
Tickets are $10, with SAC members receiving 10% off admission. Light refreshments and popcorn will be available for purchase throughout the evening.
